Hello I'm attempting to use a keyspan USA-28X (dual mac serial) adaptor to sync my palm IIIc with os X. I have a palm usb-serial adaptor that works...but i also have a newton that needs the keyspan adaptor. I already have a USB hub with 4 things plugged into it and only 2 usb ports on my powerbook G3. I know for a fact that the palm usb adaptor needs a direct connectino to the powerbook. And so does the keyspan, so I have to switch them everytime I want to use one device or the other. However I have a slew of adaptors to switch my windows serial coming off of my palm cradle to a mac serial (male) able to plug into the keyspan. Since it's dual mac serial I can have the newt and palm plugged in simultaneously! However I can't seem to get the palm to sync. I can select the keyspan as the port to listen to in the hotsync setup...but it just doesn't sync. Any ideas? Othe places I could turn for help? Thanks a lot!

where did you hear that you need a direct connection. :) i also use an serial/usb abapter to connect my os9 2001 ibook to my palm, and (get this) it's plugged in to a 4 port hub which is plugged into another 4 port hub and finally to the mac. it works.

has your palm ever sync'd under os x?

I tried to plug my palm usb to serial adapter into my 4 port hub...and it didn't work, it worked plugged directly into the pismo though...and yes with it directly plugged in I sync with palm desktop (isync and entourage conduits) all the time...but that's not exactly what I'm asking...I want to use the keyspan usb to mac dual serial adapter not the palm adapter...has anyone got this to work? I can select the USA-28x under the hotsync as a port to listen to...but it never does anything when I push the sync button...

Thanks,

Jon
