My buttons don't work!

My 4 buttons i.e., Calendar, Contacts, Q, and the Task button don't work anymore. I have had my 3635 for about 14 months and I have never had a problem with these buttons before. I have gone so far as a hard reset, but I still can't get them to function. Also, sometimes when I tap on the windows icon, the dropdown menu comes up and every item gets highlighted one after the other. This goes on for several revolutions until I soft reset. Any help would really be appreciated.

I had this problem just last week. All buttons including the record & joypad refused to work although I can get things done via the screen. Compaq tried everything, but it was only when they changed the battery did the buttons work again. To prove the point, the old battery was reinstalled, & the problem returned.

Sounds weird, but I guess the battery was too weak to give out the necessary power to activate the buttons. Possibly.
