Guy's,

I have a question about reading .txt files on my Axim vs. my Jornada 548.

I subscribe to a number of lists and get them as Digest (including this one). I pull them up and cut& Paste them into notepad on my desktop to save the as .txt files. Using Mightysync I then copy them to my PPC (Axim and or Jornada). When I open them on the Jornada the font appears to be Tohoma 10pt but on the Axim it is Tohoma 8pt. This is a bit small for these aging eyes. Is there any way to set the default .txt font and /or size on an Axim (or Jornada)

Thanks for any help

Joe

You can try using PocketNotepad to read .txt files instead:

I think you can set default font with it.

OK,

I DL'ed and loaded it on both my Axim and my Jornada. Looks OK except for:

Likes: seems to remember the font you used and calls the next file up with the same settings.

Dislikes: Slow, even on the axim--Anoyance
Does not remember the folder it was in to call up the next file--Anoyance
Will not load file much above about 25K Many of my digests are about 50-55K--catastrophic

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Joe

I'm probably missing something, but can't you use pocket Word. Set the default font to the size you want, and it brings them in at that size (on the older pocket word anyway:-)

I hav't been able to set a default font under word.
I was refered to uBook http://www.freewareppc.com/docs/book.shtml

This one seems to workk VERY well although there are a lot og options in the setup. Using it now on both my Axim X5 and my jornada 548. Seems to fill the bill!

Thanks to all!

Joe
