Ok I was just curious what peoples odometer read. I've never reset my odometer and I just reached 10,000 miles. I know that there are quite a few of you that can put this number to shame. Take a look and see how far you've gone. ( My wife just looked at my Max Speed (busted!)

As much as I'd like to keep it running, I always end up resetting it for some reason (or an RMA :D). I think the highest I've ever seen mine is arond 600 miles or so. 10'000 is pretty impressive! :D Do you have track logs saved for all that mileage? That would be neat to see.

I don't have track logs. I notice what my odometer was after deleting my track logs. I guess I'm lucky never having to reset my odometer. Why would you need to reset it? I reset the trip computer quite ofter but never have had the need to reset the odometer.

I just reset it last weekend. It read about 9800 km. I rarely use QueTrip since jmckie came up with Birdwatch, which is simply better.

Heck with the odometer ... tell us what your average speed was. To me, that is much more interesting. That has to have been averaged over, what, a year? How long did it take you to drive that far?

I remember that the overall average speed was about 43 km/h. Low speed, isn't it? But it covered a lot of hiking too!

Hi,
my max speed shows 756 km/h...after a flight to Munich :D . The Ique works pretty well in an aircraft. This is the thing to try! I just wonder if the shown altitude is a 100% accurate.

Nothing is 100% accurate. But it will be close enough for the purpose of checking how high you are flying, since a few meters more or less doesn't matter.

I must confess that I, purely accidentially, of course (the screen goes black after two minutes in GPS mode, and I didn't notice the in-frequent flashes of the green LED), happened to leave the iQue on while an Avro RJ85 taxied out to the runway and took off. Also purely accidentially (you don't think I'd jeopardize airline safety on purpose, do you?) it happened to have the Time Trial application open in this instance. So by this pure accident I have the acceleration of this aircraft recorded while taking off. I don't have a screenshot available right now, but I do have the data saved, so I can post one, should you be interested.

Three things, Anders.

1. A few meters in altitude could make a difference if you choose to land using such information.:D

2. I'd like to see the screenshot.

3. Where is my complementary bottle of suds?;)

How does iQue works in an aircraft when there is no line of sight for sat acquisition? I once tried iQue from inside a Greyhound bus that has much bigger windows that an aircraft, and it just won't pickup the sat signal!

1. Bokkie, since you aren't allowed to use the iQue during take-off and landing (disregarding any user mistakes, like thinking it's off just because the screen is black), then a few meters doesn't matter. It's only when the fasten seat belt sign is off that you are allowed to use electronic things of any kind, and then you are several thousand meters up.

2. Screenshot is not enclosed. I have a new PC, and haven't installed the Linkesoft conduit yet, I just realised. Wait a little.

3. Waiting here, I presume?

si4xp, you have to hold the iQue flush with a window. The window in the bus were probably coated with a metallic layer, to reduce heating by the sun. Aircraft windows aren't, at least none I've seen.

The screenshot in the attachment is from a flight from Bilbao to Frankfurt. I just put the ique with extended internal antenna on a book on the foldable chair table. You see one can get quite good reception, but it takes a long acquisition time because you only get the birds in one direction.
It is really fun, because if you look at the map, and the little villages passing quickly by, you get more feeling about the speed you are flying!

I've own my ique for about 8 months and my average speed is 51 mph. I do a lot of freeway driving between Seattle and Portland. I bet you could rack up a lot of miles if you used it on airplanes.

Now I've installed the screenshot conduit.

si4xp, I did hold the Ique in flightdirection at the lower edge of the window and it worked. apersson850 is certainly right when saying that the bus window was coated. I have experienced the same problem on the windshield of a friend's Peugeot.

Anders, where can one get hold of Time Trial?

I have had this Que unit since about the first of the year. I don't remember if I have ever reset it.

It shows 19924 miles with a driving average of 56.3 MPH. High speed is 664 in a Delta regional jet.
