Do you know how we sync between a windows program and the PDA- all changed and NEW files copy themselves across the network?

Is there a way to have two "folders", on say two different PC's, sync with each other- so that all changed and NEW files will get copied?

There is a thing called a Briefcase in windows, but it only copies the files that have been changed. You have no way of adding a new file to one of the folders and then "syncing" it across.

Any ideas?

I'm also real interested in the answer to your inquirey. I've used four methods to try and keep files synced betweens 2 or more computers. I've used the briefcase method which works well when the 'original' computer's drive can be "mapped" by the synced computer, as when both are on the same local area network. I've also used FolderMatch which tries to compare two directories, including sub-directoies, and copies the file that don't exits to each, replacing the the older files with the lasted dated ones. FolderMatch also requires the computerrs to be in the same LAN and to be 'mapped'.
What I need is a way of syncing directories across the internet, between remote locations, home and office. pcAnywhere does this, with some limitations, pcAnywhere allows me to connect to a preconfigured remote 'host' and syncronized files and directories between the remote and host computers. Unfortunately pcanywhere also copies missing files into each directory set, so files either moved or intentional deleted reappear (briefcase is the only way of syncing that doesn't rewrite the deleted or moved files/directories).
The last, and least favorable method is to copy through windows explorer the directories from computer to computer, once again the drives must be mapped and on the same LAN.

So...can anyone tell me how I can do the 'breifcase' type of syncronization across the internet?

The Briefcase will copy added files also, as long as they are not in the Briefcase’s root directory. If you create a briefcase and then create a folder in that Briefcase it will do what you want. You can also have a Briefcase updated to another Briefcase. I use such a setup to backup my Palm folders.
