...in a sink full of running water! Should I worry?
It seems fine for the time being, what should I look for as far as side effects in the long run?

Jehan,
You should act as quick as possible.
Firstly you should open up your T|E (if you want) to try to dry out the inside as much as possible so that it doesnt rust or short circuit (if it hasnt already).
You'll need some sort of a speacial screw driver to open it up, and apparently it's a bit hard to come by.

If it was dropped in clean, fresh water, don't open the case. Leave it sit in an upright position for a few days to dry and don't turn it on. The damage comes from turning it on when it's wet rather than the moisture itself. If you're lucky, the machine will dry out on its own and will work OK. Opening up the machine (You need a Torx 5 screwdriver, BTW), will just allow water to get into places that it's not already in. Letting it dry by draining over time is the safest way to save any electronic equipment that's been exposed to clean, fresh water.
