How to trasfer picture files or mpeg files from my computer into my palm 3600?

The simplest way is to use the "Install" button in the Palm Desktop. Select the files you want to transfer and they will be transfered on the next hotsync.

Using Hotsync is slow if the files are large. The fastest method is to use an SD card reader. They plug into a USB port on your PC and look like another hard drive to the PC. You can drag and drop files to the SD card just like on a hard drive.

It assumes that there's some application in the iQue, that has registered these kind of files. Or "Install" will not know what to do with them.

If you have installed RescoViewer, for example, you can set it up to accept files like jpeg, bmp, gif and so on. These types, which RescoViewer will handle, will also be properly transferred by Install.

Are there any freeware applications available for viewing images, movies or listening to music (except the builtin Audio app)? Have been looking for a while...

I can't answer about audio player apps because I have no interest, but I did look for picture viewers (my wife would have killed me if I had not taken pictures of our new granddaughter when I made a recent trip to visit family and I was not going to pack a picture album with me!).

I found a couple of freeware applications from a thread in here. I no longer recall which ones they were. I liked RescoViewer so much .. it was so far superior to any of the free stuff .. that I cheerfully paid for it. Recommend it highly.
