Ok, in an effort to get my yahoo address book up to date, I installed and sync-ed my palm m130 and Yahoo using their Intellisync download. As I use my Palm Desktop as my main calendar, I then uninstalled Intellisync so I could get back to Palm Desktop. But everything is messed up. I keep getting the following error everytime I try to sync: Error: Failed to open Contacts database. A new empty database was created and the original database file was renamed to c:\program Files\palmOne\.... How do I fix this? If I delete my user off the desktop and sync, it creates the profile just fine... but if I try to sync again, everything blows up. Help!

First, don't use Yahoo Intellisync to sync. If you want to update your Yahoo addressbook, set the conduit so your Palm overwrites Yahoo. Intellisync is notoriously bad about doing exactly what it has done to you.

Assuming that your latest data is on your Palm, right click on the hotsync icon. Got to "Custom" and set the four PIM conduits for "Handheld overwrites desktop". If there are any Intellisync conduits still present, set them to "Do Nothing". Hotsync and and your sync parameters with the Palm Desktop should be properly restored.

But EVENTUALLY I want to be able to Sync again...

I can overwrite everything on the desktop and basically just use that to save what's on my handheld, but as soon as I go back to sync-ing, i'm in the same fix...

I get the same error about not being able to open the database file...

FYI - I ONLY get it talking about the Contacts Database, as that's the only one I tried to use Intellisync with... so I know that's the problem, but I can't seem to fix it.
