I'm trying to setup a friend's Palm V on a Mac G4 with OS X.2 (Jaguar). Palm didn't have any of their own PalmConnect USB adapters for the serial cradle, and they said that I could use pretty much any USB to Serial Adapter.

So it's all hooked up, the cradle is getting power and all, but the HotSyncing will not work. When I press "HotSync" on the PDA itself it waits awhile and then says "Unable to connect with desktop"

Using Palm's latest Palm Desktop 4.0 software downloaded just yesterday from their site.

Any thoughts? I'll need to set up probably another couple of these in our office.

thanks!

I switched from a PC to an iBook and cannot get my Palm Vx to sync. I then bought an adapter--no dice. I realized that the problem is with the adapter (Belkin) which does not support OS 10 (only 9 and lower).

I would love to find a cradle or adapter to hotsync my palm with my iBook. Palm says they no longer make hardware for the Vx. Any ideas???? I have looked around and it seems that Palm no longer supports Vx and Belkin and others do not yet support OS 10.

Goold luck. Please let me know if you (or anyone else) finds out differently.
