Newegg sells an "International" version (P80900CN) of the Tungsten C for about $100 less than the US version (P80900US). What are the differences? I don't mind a manual that comes in Chinese and English (after all, many manuals already come in English and Spanish these days). Will the Int'l version work correctly in the US (particularly the WiFi capability)? Is the charger the same? What about software and firmware? What do I give up?

Thanks!!

There's no functional difference between the international and US version of the T|C with the exception of built-in support for either Simplified Chinese or English support. I'm not sure about the AC adaptor but I think it's dual voltage. I don't know the plug configuration. The wifi will work equally well anywhere in the world since wifi 802.11b is pretty much the standard everywhere.

NewEgg appears to have purchased the remaining supply of these units. Before you order, I would contact them and make sure you completely understand the warranty coverage. NewEgg provides no warranty coverage except 14 days for DOA units. All warranty coverage would be through Palm. If Palm has officially discontinued this unit, the warranty would likely only be 90 days.

Jim:
Thanks for your reply. I called Newegg and they pretty much confirmed what you said. However, they also said that the charger has a European plug. I suppose one could find an alternative to this problem, but then that would eat up most if not all of the savings. I guess I'll just go with the US version.
