Any idea why I can't beam from the Tungsten E to the Sony Clie UX50, but vise versa it works, and it's not just on one TE but on other TEs too!
Does it need some software or driver?
Thanks!

Since no one else is bothering to reply
I'll give it a shot.
Mind you I'm no expert so take my
reply for what it's worth.
You stated that you attemted to send data to a UX50 with multiple Tungsten Es.
That would seem (at least to me) to indicate that the problem is with the Clie.
Is it's beam recieve option turned on?
That's about the best I can do.
Hope that helps.

Is the Clie registering your attempt to send a file and then giving an error, or just not saying anything?

What exactly are you attempting to beam for the UX50? Things have gotten pretty murky in the beaming world with the newer models. The T|E and UX50 use completely different database formats for the four PIM applications. In theory, both should be able to use VCal or VCard format to beam calendar and address records but Palm's implementation of VCal and VCard is slightly different than Sony's, which can cause the problems you may be having. To make things even more diffcult, Sony and Palm also have slightly different versions of infrared standards, which can also cause problems.

Thanks for your help, I guess if Sony and Palm are going to start being imcompatible with the beaming, people are going to have a lot of problems... Shouldn't there be a program that can make it comaptible? Unless it's in the hardware.... But I can beam TO the Tungsten E anything, it's just that the tungsten can't beam anything to me! (Maybe my clie is broken...).
May there be peace and unity among the palm computing devices! (and in the middle east)

Well, Sony is out of the Palm OS market so they could care less about making the UX50 work with anything. I'm assuming that you've checked the UX50 and beam receive is turned on. Again, what are you trying to beam? This makes a difference in whether there's any way round the problem.

Too bad for us, less competition, more expensive palms...
Well I tried beaming Addresses and memos, applications like games and stuff, just about anything. I don't know if it has to do with the fact that my wi-fi dosn't work at all, freezes on "initializing..." I tried even hard reseting it... (Bluetooth works 100%). Oh well if there is a way around it I'de be happy to know, Thanks!
Happy Holidays!!
I'm looking into the T5 now.... maybe I'll try my hand at it.....

If your wifi is freezing on initalization, you certainly have some type of corrption in the OS. I would do a a good backup, do a hard reset, and then see if both your wifi and beaming now work correctly.

I've done the hard reset a couple of times, still same problems. Could be my clie is defected....
