Problem sending pictures between 5mx and Sony/Ericsson T300

I was trying to send some pictures from 5mx to the T300 phone, via IR port. 5mx told me "Could not connect, The other machine cannot receive infrared from this machine."
then I tried the other way around, sending picture from T300 to 5mx, no luck either.

has anybody tried this or similar configuration?

I haven't I'll admit, but I'll bet the problem is that the two devices are not using the same IR protocol. I'll go one further, and make a guess that the phone is using the IROrbex protocol. To get the 5mx to speak IROrbex, you'll need to invest in PLBeam from http://www.psiloc.com/html/eng/plbeam/

Obviously, before you spend the money, I suggest you confirm that the phone is using this protocol...

There is what's called a "Demo" version of plbeam downloadable at the URL posted by diem - AFAIK it is actually a functioning trial, so hopefully you can ascertain whether it works for you before parting with any cash.

but I'm still debating weather or not to invest 20 bucks in it, since I could always send pictures to my phone by email instead of infrared…
