In case any one of you also use Resco Viewer as a tool to view images, there's a new version available for Christmas.

Version 2.20 (http://www.resco-net.com/palm/palmviewer.asp)

Let's see if they included my suggestion for improvement...

Nope, they did not. Have to pester more!
Maybe I should put Bokkie on their tail?

Thanks for the heads up Anders. BTW, what was your improvement suggestion?

As it's now, you can map the six (or eight, if you have left/right navigator too) buttons on the front to different actions in RescoViewer. I wanted them to allow mapping of the jog wheel separately from the up/down buttons.
You can't do that now, but if allowed, it would be possible to browse with the wheel and zoom with the up/down keys, for example, instead of the wheel duplicating the action of up/down keys.

The funny thing is that I got a reply, where some programmer stated that he was waiting for someone to ask, to see if there was any interest, and now, when he got my suggestion, would include this in the update they planned before Christmas.

I very much doubt there'll be any other update before Christmas, so either he forgot or his calender isn't the same as mine.

Anders,

Thanks for the clarification. I agree that would have been a nice feature. As for Resco's calendar, it probably is similar to yours; it just doesn't include Lucia Day. And that programmer was a forgetful Jultomten! ;)

Could be a russian programmer... they are off by about two weeks following the orthodox calender

If it was a Russian, then his Christmas is over.

Resco has released
version 2.21 (http://www.resco-net.com/palm/PalmViewer.asp) of RescoViewer. This one does allow you to specify actions to take for the jog wheel and the ESC key, when inside the viewer.
Thus it's now possible to zoom in/out on the wheel, and browse on the up/down keys, for example.
Before the up/down keys and up/down on the wheel always resulted in the same action carried out.

Hello,
Looking for some help (or mental re-calibration) regarding viewing of JPG images on my iQue.

I installed the trial version of RescoViewer this morning but find the displayed images a bit washed out. I even played around with the brightness and contrast controls which slightly improved the image displayed.
I downloaded some of my own pictures and find I am a bit disappointed with the color also. I know my pictures print and display very well on my laptop.

So is it me expecting too much?

Thanks,
Tim

I tried out Resco Viewer last year and found it to do a superb job.

Here's a thread (http://www.pdastreet.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=48653) from awhile ago that discussed the iQue screen color being a bit off.

Please understand, my comments are not a slam against any single program.

I'm just tring to figure out if I'm doing something wrong or if I'm just expecting too much from a little screen.

Thanks
Tim

Thanks, Anders. It's a worthwhile upgrade.

So is there any recommended Freeware replacement that does the same job as Rescoviewer?
