To quote: Matsushita, which makes the Panasonic brand, also developed techniques for stuffing the cell with more electrolyte, a key ingredient that leads to longer battery life.

I'd not want to throw one of those puppies into a fire or open one up to see what makes it tick. Boom!

Would have been more interesting if they were rechargable.

The big question is will there be a longer life battery available for the iQue that can be retrofitted to an older unit?

If Garmin would just re-mold the case to make it about 3 mm thicker, a second battery could be installed in parallel with the first, or a new, higher capacity one could be developed. Seems like just the bacl case would need to be changed....,.,

At the very least, these should work with the external battery packs that people often use with the ique, and give us even better battery life.....g
