This message is intended for Polish guys. I have revo + Nokia 6310 in IDEA GSM. I'd love to surf wap sites on my petite machine - REVO. However the buddies from IDEA say it won't work. PLEASE TELL ME THEY'RE NOT RIGHT. Does anyone have a success story with this phone?

As far as I know you shouldn't have a problem doing this. I don't use WAP so I cannot help with the WAP settings but I do use a Revo and 6310 phone to connect to the internet, mainly for email.
I would suggest you start by getting a reliable internet connection and then try setting up WAP. You can get the settings for "Control Panel / Modems" from the Mobiles file on the "General Information" page of my website.
You might find it useful to install John McAleely's little program
"The Dialer". This lets you connect to the internet independently
from any particular application, a bit like Dial Up Networking on
a PC. It will also confirm that a connection has been established
before trying to use an internet application such as Web, Email,
Opera, RMRNews etc. One thing though if you do decide to use it,
make sure that in "Control Panel / Internet" you have a time
entered in the box "On exit, stay online for..." which is
sufficient to allow you to open an internet application (or in
the case of Email, open a mailbox), otherwise the connection will
drop immediately. The Dialer can be downloaded from the
"Series 5(mx)" page of my website or there is a link to John's
site for more information.

The problem is a little bit more complicated, that is why I addressed my message to Polish users. My provider differentiates between GPRS Internet service and WAP over GPRS. One pays using the internet, retrieving emails etc, but WAP over GPRS is generally free of charge (there is however 2$ fee a month for whole GPRS service). I'd like to use browse wap sites on my revo. This is very useful since I found that eg the wap news service provided by BBC is quite extensive. I also use dictionaries and send messages over wap. This would be great if I could use revo's smart keyboard and a larger display. The general problem is that the settings of GPRS and WAP over GPRS are different in my case. So using the dialer programme won't help. I still hope that there is someone who solved this specific problem in Poland.
Thanks, Mike, anyway.

The general problem is that the settings of GPRS and WAP over GPRS are different in my case.I would think they are probably different in most cases - for example my GPRS "Access Point Name" for the internet with Orange in the UK is "orangeinternet". If I only used WAP, the APN would be "orangewap".
So using the dialer programme won't helpUsing "The Dialer" simply dials the connection independently from the browser. I always use The Dialer to connect and it shouldn't make any difference that you are creating a WAP compatible GPRS connection instead of the Internet connection I create.
However, if you can get help from someone in Poland that will make it much easier, I agree :)
