After having my Palm for sometime now, I just had an idea -- MP3's! Yeah, a no-brainer, right? Well, what is needed so I can play MP3's? Do I have to buy something or can I play them with freeware, or is there stuff already installed, somewhere on the thing, where I can play now?
Thanks!

The T|C has no built-in software for playing MP3's. It's possible to use a program like Aeroplayer to play MP3's but the T|C also has no stereo output. You'd have to get a headphone and a mono to stereo adapter plus a 2.5 mm plug adapter. After all that, you'd only get the music in mono and it sounds pretty bad. Buy a real MP3 player if you really want to listen to music.
if the spoken word is your bag, then try:
pocket tunes
jabra ear jell headset (nokia)
some desktop mp3 editor like mp3doctor to resample if needed
usb2 multi-card reader to move those mp3's to the sd card quickly

Since I owned a T|2, I installed the RealPlayer program off the T|2 CD on the T|C and it worked well. RealPlayer is definitely not the best MP3 app out there tho. I also have MMPlayer (primarily for playing videos) which also play MP3's, but I didn't like the way you can't really separate the audio and video playlists very well.
So I picked up a copy of AeroPlayer and couldn't be happier. If you do the same, DOWNLOAD SOME SKINS. The default skin looks horrible and was causing me to lean toward buying Pocket Tunes instead (much more expensive and doesn't sound as well IMHO). I also purchased a wonderful little headphone adapter for the T|C (from HERE (http://www.arkon.com/pda.html#cmadpt07) ) that not only gives you the ability to use standard stereo headphones, but it also comes with a built-in microphone and control button for using the recorder app that comes on the CD included with the T|C. There is another adapter below this one that does not include a microphone, but it's the same price and not much smaller. You can buy this same adapter elsewhere, but it's about $10 more.
I think it sounds great. I've used a cassette adapter to play it over the speakers in my car and I've also used some Sony headphones to listen to it right out of the T|C. No, it's not stereo, but you still get some really good sound quality of out. It sounds just as good as my T|2 did, and the T|2 was stereo.
