Hi,
Here's my hardware/softare:
iPAQ 3650
Pocket PC (original verson)
WIN XP (home edition)
ActiveSync 3.6 (newest version)

I previously was Syncing my iPAQ with Outlook on a Notebook running WIN2K.
When I got a new computer and installed Active Sync and tried to sync, I get the following error:

"Critical communications services have failed to start. To correct this error, quit all programs and restart Windows."

I tried that...doesn't work. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling ActiveSync -- no luck. In Device Manager, all devices appear to be recognized and functioning.

Any ideas??

Thanks!

Try disconnecting the USB cable from the iPAQ cradle and use Start/Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager and uninstall the Compaq iPAQ USB Sync device under the Windows CE USB Devices key; reboot; verify that the device is removed in the Device Manager; plug the USB cable from the cradle into the computer using a primary USB connector, not a USB hub (if you have USB connectors in the front and back of the machine find out which are the primary connectors).

This may correct the problem.
