I haven't hotsynced my Vx for some time now... long story. I found out today that my laptop doesnt even have a port to accept the cradle for the Vx. What can I do to connect the cradle to my laptop?

Check to see if the laptop has IR. If so, you will be able to IR sync it.
Otherwise you will have to use Google to find a serial-USB adapter, since the Vx cradle has a serial connector and the laptop probably only has USB.
Either way max speed is 56k, so no disadvantage between IR and USB.
