Hi,

Well, my brand new (just purchased earlier tonight) T|E is already having issues.

While sync'ing (not my first sync of the night) my 'E' I realized it was taking a looonnnnggg time... so I glanced to see what it was on... "Synchronizing J9 Java Launcher" ... 20 minutes later it was still doing that.... 10 minutes later... so I tried to click CANCEL on either the PC or the Palm and got no response.

finally i pulled the plug ... ugh.

ended up having to [x] KILL the hot sync app on my pc and turn my palm on and off a few times ... finally it was all over...

With baited breathe I decided to investigate and hotsync again...

This time I noted that this particular app is listed in my c://Palm USER file on my PC at 1600+ kb which is twice the size of any other app loading or synching. However, I have synced larger files than that with my old M105 and taked much less time! I also noticed that only a few files had been updated on the last sync so if I have to kill it ... it is way up on the list of apps to sync and I will miss tons of other apps to sync.

so here I sit again, watched as the minutes go by... then another 10 minutes, and another 5, etc....

what is up with this application????? will it ever end? what have I done wrong? what shall I do? Has anyone else ever had this issue????

The J9 Java Launcher is used to view Java apps on your T|E. Generally, you don't need this Java package unless you have a specific use for Java. Go to http://kb.palmone.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,kb=PalmSupportKB,ts=Palm_External20 01,CASE=obj(30877) to determine which version of the Java environment you have. You can then delete the files to both free up memory and fix the sync problem.
