hilarious!
in the corner of hte screenshot above, it says the copyright is 2003. Is this the european routing bugs from prior? Round-and-round-a-bout bug?
Reminds me. There was an insurance company commerical where a guy's car for some reason was in a lake. They don't explain how that happened, other than the driver saying something to the tone "GPS was way off" or something. Maybe the commercial was shot in Norway?
/me just had evil ideas of betty voice supplements for Birdwatch. "Uh oh! Cornfield!" or "Slow down, you maniac!! Let me out here!"

Very funny:D
Maybe they're using a new routing preferences option:
a. Shortest
b. Fastest
c. Dumbest

I think the guy said, "The map was a disappointment." The commercial runs on just about every (American) football game now.
Maybe this is a new version of the old classification of Microsoft software releases: The first is market research, the second is what everyone else would call a beta release, and the third might not actually explode in your face.
For mapping, the first goes in the opposite direction around the earth, the second takes only major roads even if that involves traversing much of the continent and an ocean crossing or two, and the third is only mildly ridiculous.

The boat ride between Haugesund and Great Britain is very nice. Select "shortest", and the boat ride will be even better.

This reminds me of the efficient way the French route phone calls from St. Martin to the US. The calls go from St. Martin, to France, then back to the US. On the dutch side, Sint Maarten, the calls go from Sint Maarten, directly to the US.
At least that was the way it was a few years ago. Perhaps the French efficiency has improved since then.

Hehe. I am from Norway, and this trip has been presented in Aftenposten, one of the biggest newspapers in Norway:
Aftenposten article (http://www.aftenposten.no/nyheter/iriks/article955233.ece?)
What's really sad, is that the route planner STILL want us to explore the Nordic Sea, after all the fuzz in Norway. Why haven't anyone made any changes? Oh, well. I'm glad I'm using an iQue.

We all have heard of "1 Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA, USA", MS' Corp. HQ. The above is "Microsoft's Way" in Norway.
