H1940 Screen contrast

HI, new user here. I have a HP H1940 that has had a new screen. The screen goes very bright after a couple of seconds of switching on. Its not a backlight control issue (tried that) It makes the screen very difficult to read, especially when the backlight brightness is reduced.

Any ideas group.?
