My girlfriend just bought me this Compaq 3950 PDA and I've been told I can do a ton of things with it like download from sights to get the newspapers, sport updates etc. I went to a sight called AvantGo.com and downloaded their software and was successful one once in getting the channels. But I can't get the darn thing to synch to pull current info. I'm using MS Explorer and MS Activesynch (the stuff that came with the PDA). I desperately need some help; actually someone to guide me through the process of setting the unit up properly. I'm not too heavy in the computer lingo, but I can definately follow "good" instructions. Have I got a bum site for downloading channels? Do I need to explore with other sites? Please recommend some. Thanks!

For Avantgo tutorial try here:
http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/pocketpc/getstarted/tutorials/gettingstarted101/step11.asp
And you can go back to the main table of contents for tutorial on other areas:

Other than Avantgo, is your iPAQ syncing properly? Will it sync Outlook data? I ask bc the set up is very tricky (in my experience). Not tricky, finnicky, you have to follow the active sync instructions VERY CAREFULLY. Don't plug things in until it tells you to, don't put your unit in the cradle until it tells you to.
If the active sync is working, and it is a problem with Avantgo, I've gotten good support from them in the past and had things work out.
