Hallo to everyone,
I'm having problem with my palm m505.
Usually, when i leave a screen ON for a little, it freeze and i need to hard reset the palm in order to recover it.
Contestually i verified that palm battery had a hogh decrease in term of duration. (sometimes battery go completely down in a single day even if I use it not so much).
I suppose this two problem are related and maybe I have to substitute battery (my palm is 4 years old).
Anyone had similar problem?
Anyone knows if it is possible and easy battery substitution?
Thanks in advance.

If you're having the screen freeze after it's only on five minutes, the first thing I would do is make sure it's not a software problem. Rename your Backup folder to Backup_old then hard reset your Palm. Hotsync, which will restore your PIM data but not any of your third party programs. If your Palm now works correctly. it's likely that a third party program is causing the problem. Docs to Go is the usual problem.
If you still see the same problem, it's either a screen cable that's come loose or the battery capacity is down to almost nothing. You can open the 505 and replace the battery and also check to make sure the cables are all properly seated. You can get directions on how to open your 505 and get a new battery at ********hightech.com .

Hi Jim, thanks a lot for ur answer.
Let me know if I understood well...
If I perform an Hard Reset, all my application data will be deleted excepted data of (third party) application I installed after i bought my palm with out-of-the-box software...is it right?
Anyway, after i do this,
I have to rename again my Backup_old folder in Backup and re-execute HotSync operation in order to transfer back data from my laptop do palm......ok?
Regards,
Francesco ;)

Basically correct except that ALL your data, including any third party data, will be erased by a hard reset. The 505 will be in exactly the same state as when it came from the factory. Thus, it's important that you do a good backup before you hard reset and rename your backup folder.
If you find that the machine works correctly without any of your third party software installed, you shouldn't just rename your old backup folder and restore as you'll likely restore the program or data that is causing the problem. You'll have to install your programs one by one, testing after each install to make sure which program caused the problem.
Jim.........
I always seem to see (on different posts across the forum) about Doc's to Go being a "culprit" , etc......
I have not been real thrilled with Doc's to Go .............
Always seem to have syncronization issues, opening of files issues, etc.......
Is there a better alternative?
Is Quick Office as good or even better?
Cheers,

@Syno:
I love documents To Go only it's a newer version (A bit slow on the T|E acctually).
@Frenk:
My dads M505 Dies real quick to (Lasts 30 - 50 Minutes with continuous use), i think it's a case that the battery is too old. Just get a new battery if you need to.
