I bought a 665 for my girlfriend's birthday and am having a lot of problems with it. The preinstalled stuff works, but most of the games or utilities that I've tried to download from the Sony CD crash the PDA with a "Fatal Exception" requiring either a soft or hard reset.

I tried the Sony support site, but it's apparently down (too many customer problems?). I don't think the problem is the HotSync since the databases resync fine and I was able to download Pacman and get it to resync.

I don't have any memory stick in the unit and it shows that there is about 11 MB of free space. I don't need to have a memory stick just to run Zap do I?

Anyone have any hints before I return the unit for something else?

Yeah, I just picked up the camera for the Clié (the PEGA-MSC1) and after installing the soft, get a fatal error if ANY memory stick or the camera is plugged into the slot.
So now I can't even go back to what I could do before with the MS!!

What crap!

Anybody have a fix before I return this thing?
Only thing I can think of is that there is an option to install Pocket Picture Gear 2.1, but says not to if it is already installed.
My Clié came with PG 2.2 already installed, so I didn't install the PG which was on the CD, of course, even if there was a conflict I never even have a change to start PG...

Oh yeah, I have a lot of AvantGo data on there, but still...

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Do you have HiRes Assist? If so, what are the settings? Some programs don't like running with HRA on.

Interesting idea; I checked and the hi-res asst. doesn't have any settings, it's either on or off.
I returned the camera, and did not try disabling HRA for the camera soft...so who knows, maybe that would work...

I had found that Sony named a bug in its support site involving the MS slot, and the downloadable fix was marked "only for the T-665". Well I have the European version (T-675c) and they never responded to my email querry if I could use the fix, so maybe that was the actual reason for the problem.
By the way, I restored normal operation just by deleting the soft off the Clie.
