Hello all!
I've read over many of th posts on this board, all of the comments and questions you guys post are giving me a better idea of what it is to own the Clié NR07V. Descriptions on websites are fine and dandy, but they don't mention the small practical issues about actually owning a product. Anyway, if anyone has any big warnings or anything please let me know! If you could tell me of any features that are driving you crazy or any malfunctions I'd appreciate it. I've been trying to find a PDA that can be an all-in-one device (Digital organizer, Camera, (posibly video camera too,) MP3 Player, Remote, Gps, and possibly Cell Phone.) I think I may have found the right device for me. If you have any thoughts post a reply. Thanx:D

In my opinion when Sony built this Clie' they took all the good suggestions and Pros from the earlier Clie's to make the mother of all. All the little things people liked on this older Clie' but was not availible on that newer Clie' was concidered when making this. Of course the camera is not high quality ( bout like a web cam) but its handy an fun. I have also found a site that lets you record video on it. Its virtual graffitti area also lets you view full screen pics and movies. I say buy it, you wont be sorry

Talk about a quick response! Thanks for the info. I was also wonderinga about the Remote Commander software. Does it have pre-programed button arrangements? or can you create your own. I was also wondering if it could learn IR signals (i have an X-10 universal remote that can do that.) I only ask because i'm having a hard tim finding info on the remote commander software itself. Thanx again. :D

The software comes with a good deal of preprogramed devices that you can choose from and some even have 2 to 3 different modes ( meaning if mode 1 for JVC TV does not work mode 2 might). As for creating your own I don't think you can do that, at least not yet. But you can always get updates from Sony. You might want to make that a separate thread to see if anyone knows how to program speacials in there. Well hope this helps

I forgot to put the button arrangments in the last post. The remote commander comes with 4 programmable quick buttons then you have a list of things you have set up already to pick from so you dont have to keep on reprogramming everything. As for the other buttons it pretty much sets the buttons to what the device your controling does. You can option what the jog dial does. (just in case you dont know what a jog dial is on the clie, its like a mouse wheel that you can roll up and down and even click to make navigating easier on the move. If your listining to mp3's you can change tracks, pause and play, or even change the volume.) The jog dial usually changed volume n the device, but cd players do track numbers. Hope this helps a little more.

Sorry if I misspelled some things but I'm not a good speller to begin with and I tend to play on the computer when i'm supposed to be sleeping:D

Someone suggested this site from an earlier thread I posted. I checked it out and found that the program is still under construction but you can purchase a semi working copy for about $8. After that you can download updates or just wait for the full version. It lets you record full screen video and also lets you take full screen snap shots. It also contains some weird effects for you to play around with.

Heres the site I found

P.S. darooman, I'm glad that you enjoy your new purchase and welcome to the Clie' 70V family. Now its time for you to make evryone else at york jealous, lol
