Cant instal PSIWIN2.3.3

I have tried upgrading from PsiWin2.3 from the CD that came with my 5mx to 2.3.3 downloaded from Psion.com. I uninstalled the original PsiWin 2.3 and then downloaded the new version. I have downoaded several times from other sites as well in case I had a corrupt file. I use Download Accelerator Plus which has never caused me a problem before. When I open the filr from DAP or via windows explorer I get a message "cannot open file ............\temp\setup.exe". Any ideas how I can get this to run so I can reconnect my 5mx. I have also tried reinstalling my previous version from CD but nothing happens at all and also tried Intellisync for Symbian devices. This unpacks but nothing else. Please help. I'm completely stuck!:confused:

The first thing I would suggest you do is to uninstall whichever version is currently installed, delete any 'Psion' folders in C:\Program Files\ then run the PsiWin Registry Cleaner which you can download from the Series 5 page of my website (last item on that page).

Unless you have some particular reason for installing 2.3.3 (such as running Windows 2000 or XP), I would suggest that you stay with the version on the CD. If you do want to install the English language version of 2.3.3, you should have an .exe file of 25,844,685 bytes. If this doesn't match, I would suggest you don't try to install it.

Thanks for this. I run XP & have tried the registry but no effect. I have just checked the file size and it is as you state.

OK, if you are sure you have deleted all "Psion" files from the PC and you have run the 'reg cleaner', try copying the .exe file for PsiWin 2.3.3 to another folder instead of ...\temp\ in case XP won't install programs from a temp folder.

Reboot, and make sure you are logged on as "Administrator", then try running the .exe file again.
