I need some advice, but please try to read what I want, not what might work for you. I am looking for that magic box that will solve all my cellphone & pda desires. The requirements are:

1) be ergonomically similar to a cell phone, perferably a "flip open" type phone. If I don't feel comfortable carrying it, I might as well get an ENIAC.

2) have full "PDA" functions and sync w/ MS Outlook on my PC (note: NO server). Note that I prefer the PPC type pda, but can learn something else if I have to.

3) Have the "cell phone" bells & whistles such as ringtones (preferably 'normal' sound files I can copy from my computer), camera, caller id, voice mail, etc

4) Be able to use IM clients (at least 2 of AIM, Yahoo, MSN).

5) Be able to check/send email from multiple pop3/imap hosts (specifically sendmail on Linux).

6) Browse webpages (see how far down the list this is?)

7) Have a built-in GPS where I can both see where I currently am (including way pts) and transmit my coordiates to someone else. (ok, this is actually more important to me, but it's on the bottom of the list because I'm pretty sure there is NO product out there that will do this).

You know, I have heard that Samsungs i500 is a pretty damn efficient device. It has a large variety of user functions common to most PDA's and extensive memory capacity. It comes in the flip phone style and has a built in stylus and good screen view. The graffiti function makes SMS text messaging much faster to complete and send. I don't know of any phone device that has the GPS features your looking for, but I do know of a service that provides such and more. At www.Dictomail.com they have a section which offers GPS global navigation as a part of their service to subscribers. The service provides digital conversion of incoming voicemails to text and can send these messages to your phone, fax, or Desktop e-mail. I have found it to be invaluable for their voicemail archive feature but don't need the navagation service. hopes that you find some of this information helpful too you.
