ActiveSync error HTTP_504

Hi,

I got a user getting error HTTP_504 when trying to do a sync on his phone. He is syncing up with an exchange server using the cingular network.

Anyone seen this error before and knows what is causing this and has a fix?

HTTP error 504 is gateway timeout error.

It probably does not involve activesync but either the client has lost the connection (disconnet from the internet) or the server is down. It can happen when the connection is too slow. You can check with Cingular that the connection is setup properly and make sure that the exchange server is also setup properly and available ffor remote syncing.
