Greetings! I've been reading the board for a few weeks, and decided it was time to join. I'm trying to decide on my first PDA, and came here for information. The wealth of knowlege here is amazing! I had my mind made up to get a Garmin Ique, and then they released the M5. Now the Dell X50V has my ineterest and looks to have the lead. I want the GPS functions primarily, but Wifi would be nice too, since part of my job requires me to monitor my email 24 hours a day. I'm still browsing... but it's between a Dell and a Garmin GPS10 or a Garmin M5 with a Wifi card. Since I already have a huge library of Garmin waypoints from my trusty Street Pilot III, I want to stick with the Garmin format.

Anyhow, Hello to all. Feel free to offer any suggestions you may have.

Unlucky 555,

you have lots of choice. If you want to be looked upon as a friend, stick with Palm, that is, 3600. Otherwise, PPC is your option and then you invite the wrath of many, moderators, not the least of them, eh Ann?:D

If you've made up your mind about PPC, then Dell are very good. I have an iPaq HX4700 which is pretty awesome though I have a cfQue installed. Either way, the M5 will do you well as will a Dell/GPS10. Just decide if a BT GPS is for you and with that, another box to carry around. The M5 and GPS 10 are too new for informed opinions to be made, and there seems to be a 3-way tie: those who like the M5; those who like the GPS 10; and those who like anything else just as long as it is not an M5 or GPS 10, eh Ann?:D

NCTRNL is the early adopter of the M5 here and some of us are waiting for the GPS 10. As long as you stick with Garmin apps you can't really go too wrong.
