Well, a couple problems:
1 You're in the wrong forum
2 Not many people even know that cell phones can act like pdas... so

"the difference between a pda, palm, pocket pc, etc...."

Pda: Personal digital assistant

Palm: Pdas that use palm os(an operating system). Most people call anything that looks like a computer that you're holding in your hand a palm... they are ignorant

Pocket pc: Pdas that use Pocket pc(a operating system).

Etc.: Well, palm os is an older system that has been around longer, it is therefore usually cheaper, smaller, and has way more software availible to it(freeware and shareware). Pocket pc is a somewhat newer system that is usally more expensive, larger, drains your batteries faster, and has very little freeware. On the other hand, pocket pc has way better wireless capabilities(wifi, bluetooth, etc.), is generally faster(if you are willing to buy programs for it  ) , and is capable of some more advanced functions. I prefer palm, as it is cheaper, more expandable via software(overclocking, flash mem, ir functions, etc.), and I find palm os WAY easier to use and customize. It comes down to: what do you want a pda for?? Well, let me know.....

I have no hands on expierience with Siemens SX56's, but I'm pretty sure I know what you're talking about. Cheers
