you need to re-encode it on your computer. To do this you need the Divx codec, and a program called virtualdub.

then go here (http://www.moosegate.com/betaboy/dcdivx/) . Scroll 1/2 down the page, in the FAQ, under the 1st question about encoding is a link for the Pocket Divx guide. Download and read the guide.

I've decreased the bitrate of the video to about 75 kbps to shrink a 250MB to about 17MB. If you don't know what that means, read the guide and you should be able to figure it out. You can also use the more current divx 5.02 codec for the encoding, the guide uses 4.12.

IF you got to Pocket TV's website, they show how to resize/reduce the original movie files using a program called TMPGENC.

I used it to reduce Spiderman the Movie from 600+MB to right around 300 - but this is a the best quality that the IPAQ will play at....if you play with the settings you might be able to get it under 100MB....

Pocket TV site has a link to PocketMovies.net that is pretty much a step by step guide on how to convert movies to a format IPAQ can display.

Here - this is from the site:

4 - How do I convert avi to mpg ?

You can find a lot of encoder links at PocketTV

For my site I use Tsunami MPEG Encoder (AKA TMPGEnc) with these settings :
Width : 240
Video : VBR @ (250 min, 300 avg, 400 max)
Audio : 44,1 kHz, 16 bits, Joint-Stereo, 64 kbps

These settings will make a video that will play correcly on most PocketPC devices

If you have a ARM or XScale PDA (iPAQ, Toshiba, ...) you can use :
Width : 320
Video : VBR @ (350 min, 450 avg, 600 max)
Audio : 44,1 kHz, 16 bits, Joint-Stereo, 96 kbps

Understand that converting the files can take a while. Then all you do when it's done is copy them to your IPAQ.

If you only have audio, and no video, then you have the incorrect version of PocketDivx.

go here (http://home.adelphia.net/~mdukette/) to download the iPaq version. The guy there also has sample movies you can download to test your installation.
