I own an Inspiron 5150 and have just recently purchased an Axim x5. The university I attend has a wireless network that requires a network card compatible with 802.11g (802.11a won't work). What I would like to do is make my Axim connect to the wireless network at school and at my house have a wireless connection to the dialup service I already have. Is there any way that I can do this? And if so what else do I need to buy? Thank you.

Usually 802.11g is backward compatible with 802.11b (not a), there are many cf and sd 802.11b card available, you may want to check with the school if 802.11b is compatible. If it's not, Linksys has cf 802.11g card;

Would I be able to use that to connect to my dial up internet here at my house or is there something else I need to get in order to do that?

If you want to use the dialup internet connection from your desktop, then you will need to have wireless network setup at home as well. Your desktop needs to have wireless adapter and you will probably need wireless access point.
