Has anyone seen this? This site allows you to superimpose your track data on an actual aerial photo of the area.
GPS Visualizer (http://www.gpsvisualizer.com)
It was NOT easy, I had to go through several gyrations to get my track data in the right format. But once I got it working, it worked great.
Attached is (if I attach it right) the output of a bike ride I took through my neighborhood. The track line is colored by altitude, so you can see the area is relatively level. You can also color it by speed, or heading.
Other maps are available too, not just aerial photos. You can get topo maps if you like.
Or has this already been discussed?

Andy, I used it on my 201 until I discovered I could download into mapsource. I like the idea of the overlay you showed but for my occasional use, mapsource is good enough for my needs.

Granted, MapSource is very good, but the aerial photo thing just blew me away.

Discussed before? See here (http://www.pdastreet.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39900&perpage=15&pagenumber=3)
BTW, that is the author of GPSVisualizer in that post.

I also found Adam to be incredibly helpful when I contacted him about gpsvisualizer some time back and he gets top marks for what he put together.

I've been using ExpertGPS for years with my eTrex Vista. It works just fine with the Q as well. It allows you to upload and download data from the eTrex and it can take data from the Q, but I can't get it to write data to the Q.
You can manipulate the data easily and the kicker is that it allows you to superimpose your data on aerial photos or topographic maps that it can automatically download from the Internet. The limitation with this is that I believe this feature only works for US locations. It also allows you to scan maps and georectify them (more or less).
I digitize trails from the topo maps into tracks, and upload them into my Vista.
They also give you access to some huge waypoint libraries that are arranged by state and a few countries. It's a great program and has some simple GIS functionality. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the ability to transfer the image data, to any GPS.
If you're interested check out www.expertgps.com (http://www.expertgps.com)

I hate to hear people say it's not easy... What kind of gyrations did you have to perform? (In what format was your data originally?)
