Hello,

I want start programming the sony. Now I need a rom file from sony sj20 for the emulator.

I already tried to download it. I followed a post for a sony 320, but it didn't work. I got an fatal error and I needed to reset the handheld.

Here the link for the posting that I followed:

Any ideas how I can transfer the rom to the pc, or is there any rom that I can download from sony, which is similar to the rom of the sj20.

Thanks,

Thomas

I had the same result when I tried to get the ROM from my S-360. So far I've been getting by with the Sony Emulator which has a Sony ROM compiled in. It supports the Jog Dial interface in code but doesn't seem to have any user interface to acutally use it in the emulator.

If you join the Sony developer program you can download a PDF file with an agreement that you can sign and then fax to them and they will make the ROMs available to you. I've still not figured out how to sign a PDF file and then print it to the faxmodem and haven't gotten my round tuit cranked up enough to take it down the street and get it faxed after printing so I've not tried it.

Hi,

@elmogonzo:
I've already signed in at the developer program by sony. It is right now really easy to sign in. You don't need no pdf or fax anymore. Try this link:
Sony Developer Program (http://www.us.sonypdadev.com/develop_info/index.html)

The problem is that they don't have a ROM for the SJ20 as download available.

My Question, which handheld is the most similar to the SJ20 (except SL10, also no ROM download available).

Thanks,
Thomas

Hi,

I searched a little bit more in the internet. I figured out that the easiest way to transfer the rom from the handheld to the pc is a programm that is called RomTransfer extended. You need also a Memorystick with more than 4Mb. You can transfer the rom to Memorystick. Then you can connect the handheld with a pc. You have also access to the memorystick in the palm through the computer.
That's it.

Thanks

MrGremlin (http://mrgremlin.karnt.com/cgi-bin/showlist.pl?Category=Utilities)

This is a Thai site, with some nice sources.....

I just downloaded the Palm OS Emulator 3.3 (POSE), which has a little prc that you put on your Palm to allow you to export the ROM from it, for use on the PC

I haven't tried it yet, but I was interested to try out some of the programs before downloading them onto the handheld.....

It's my wife's, and she gets a bit upset with me bloating out the unit ;)
