My m130 is 2 years old. It has at times given me the deadly message and I had to reset. Today it just froze; no message; nothing. It wouldn't even turn off! After quite some time it did turn off and when I pressed the button to turn it back on it was still frozen on the preference screen at the same time as it originally froze. I reset several times to no avail. I came home and did a reset while holding the up button...nothing. I did a hard reset and I wiped everything out and it turns off and on now but only goes to the "remove the stylus" screen and no further. The buttons don't work. I have had it in the charger for about 3 hours and it made the beep noise when I put it in so I do believe it is charging so that is not the problem. I also did a reset while on the charger. Is it time for a new one or is there something I didn't try yet????

Went back to Palm to look at their troubleshooting. Decided perhaps the tap screen was the problem. I ran a piece of paper around the whole edge of the tap screen and my Palm is now working!! Just thought I would let you know in case someone else had a similar problem

You could remove the faceplate and clean any dust or lint from the perimeter of the screen, too.
