Connection speed to Internet

I have just managed to work out how to connect my H3970 Ipaq to the Internet using my bluetooth Nokia 6600 as the modem. It is incredibly slow...is there any way I can make a quicker connection. Would more memory help?

Also, just read an article about VPN. A lot of it went over my head, but that I can connect to the Internet using a wireless connection, can you advise what sort of VPN products I should be looking at for my H3970, and a good virus software. I am currently using PPC 2002, but will be upgrading to 2003 shortly.

The speed depends on what type of cellular service you have, you may have to subscribe to certain service to get high speed such as GPRS.
