I installed a program that at first didn’t work. Deleted and reinstalled. Now I have two Icons. Tried to delete and reinstall and now I have three Icons.
I read the threads on removing icons, but that doesn’t work for me. It deletes the program, but the Icons remain in the Programs Window. File explorer under Program files doesn’t show these icons. Where else can I look?

Have you tried soft reset after uninstalling the program? And where did you look for the icons? They should be in My Device -- Windows --Start Menu -- Programs folder. You can also sync the ipaq to the desktop, click Explore on the desktop's Activesync and browse to the folder and delete the icons.

What is the name of this program? If you still see it when you click Start -- Programs, the shortcut link is still there in the folder mentioned above(My Device -- Windows --Start Menu -- Programs folder, not Program files folder) What exactly are the process you were doing? Just to make sure, to delete a file, you tap and hold on it inside file explorer and you will see a popup window with option to delete.

I tired that, the option does not come up. Just says error can't find program.
I used the Active sync removal. Tried program remove on Pocket PC. Tried file exploer, look at program folder and delete. Agfter each try, I did a soft reset. And each time the program is removed, the ICON remains. ICON just changes from the ICON of the program to generiac ICON.
I had to resort to a hard reset and put everything back, except that freeware conversion program.
Best thing I can say, before installing any new program do a backup. That way you can reinstall original setup.
Nothing else worked. Happened before on another program that I had to do a hard reset to get rid of it.
