Looking for Travel Sync and charge cable

I'm looking for a portable sync and charging cable.

I've seen the one from boxwave ( http://www.boxwave.com/products/minisync/minisync-retractable-cable-garmin-ique-3600_28.htm) and it looks ok.

Can anyone make a suggestion? Is it OK? are there better ones? :confused:

I already have the auto/beanbag mount from Garmin. (and I love it )

I'm looking for something smaller, that I can carry with me, and that will sync and recharge my IQUE 3600 .

The GARMIN sync cable that is on the site you listed still requires a power supply. It doen't get power from the USB port.

This also includes a 12v adapter, but you do NOT need to use that to charge the iQue, it'll charge directly from the USB port.

I use one and it's great.

Well I can recommend one travel/sync cable NOT to buy. The Seidio USB cable is listed as working for the 3600. I just got mine and it doesn't fit at all and quickly broke when I tried to "encourage" it.

I've tried one of these, which did fit, but it turned out that the USB ports on my laptop couldn't supply power enough to charge the iQue. On the other hand, it took enough power from the port to prevent sync as well. So it was a no-no.

Now I'm using Garmins traveller kit. Works much better. That I need to find an AC outlet is no problem, since the laptop would need that anyway. I also have some 12 VDC adapters, to use in other cars, and the auto cradle in my own car.

FYI: Today I bought the Belkin Palm Universal accessory Kit.

It was $15 at my local circuit city. I couldn't resist. It comes with a sync cable, (with many tips) a case and some screen cleaners.

:mad: But, the adaptor won't fit on my ique. It looks exactly the same, but for some reason won't snap into the IQUE slot.

Oh well.... It was worth a try.

(fits, T, T2, T3, M500, etc.... but doesn't mention IQUE.)

I'm still looking for a charging/sync cable.

Works fine, though I don't really use it to sync, but I did try that once to see if if would work, and it did for me. I use it to connect to a battery pack charger I have.

I have the Sync-Gear cable. It's a combined SD card reader and sync cable that also charges the iQue from the USB port. I like it.

EDIT: If you want to also be able to use the cable to charge from AC110V or DC12V you can just scroll down that page at StylusCentral.com and there are inexpensive adapters for the cable to do that.

Jerry, I have the MiniSync from Boxwave, and use it successfully for both charging and syncing with my laptop (Toshiba Portege R100).

MiniSynch works for me w/ Dell Lattitude D600.

IR Synch from Dell IR port also works, though that does not solve the charging issue.

I have one of them also, you have to be careful, but the connector does fit the iQue. However, they also break easily! soft plastic...not good!

Over the week-end I ordered the boxwave mini-sync, and it just arrived.

It works great. Sync and charge all in one!
