Bluetooth connectivity

First a quick explaination of what I am using:

Laptop:

XP pro
TDK bluetooth PC card
TDK 'My bluetooth places'

Compaq iPaq 3630:

Bluetooth jacket
Windows 2002

The problem:

I can't connect to activesync. They will connect but not through activesync. I can send files through the TDK software, but it won't connect to the activesync.

Did you first set up an Activesync partnership with a cable? You can't set up a partnership via Bluetooth.

On the iPaq, at the bottom of the screen "Device manager" it just says "retrieving services for this device", and doesn't change. Might this be the problem?
