Any recommendation on programs that converts DVDS, VCDs, AVIs, to a reasonable size to be store on the SD cards for viewing on Pocket PC.
Any reviews on those that are on retail ?
Any freeware ones ?

Not to sound like a commercial, but I have been using this one:

For several months. It is amazingly simple to use, and works well (the latest upgrade from last month allows me to convert my home-recorded DVDs without a problem).
I believe that it was well worth the money I spent.

In theory, when you re-encode videos with this type of converter, you will lose quality. However these video codecs perform much better than the old mpeg video and many of these converters can compensate the quality loss by encoding the video twice. So as long as you don't over compress the video (which means you need decent size storage) and don't expect the process to be quick, you should not see any noticable blur and pixalation (smaller pocketpc screen size also hides the flaws). The sound quality should be around the same as average mp3 files.
There are a few sample videos from Betaplayer site mentioned above that should give you some idea.
