I was wondering if anyone knows of any good software that remaps missed turns. Now my question is, Is this a Software Feature of Hardward Feature. I have a Delorme Blue Logger GPS for my iPAQ h5555. I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice. Thanks in Advance!

Hamerkop,

the ability of any GPS to recalculate missed turns is a software function and not one that designers would attempt to do in hardware. Recalculating missed turns is not trivial and is influenced by many factors and these in turn are influenced by the detail of the maps, such as one-way streets, and speed limits for the different types of roads, and whether you want to route using the fastest or shortest route. Many factors affect this. Of course, some manufacturers have better algorithms than others but all of them do a reasonable job, but it's not perfect.

I've been beta testing Mapopolis software for a few days now and LOVE It!

First thing I did was dl a demo map of my area and test it going to work.

Only 4 miles, but it told me to take an exit...vrooom right past. It dinged and rerouted me to the next exit (which I take anyway). It also will route to your preference list fastest (highways) or shortest (back roads).

Rerouting is a software function, hardware just gets the satellite info and dumps it inot the PPC.
