JMckie 02-17-2005, 11:51 AM Well, let me be the second to post, even I also don't have an M5. :) Bokkie 02-17-2005, 12:09 PM I don't belong here either. reinbeau 02-17-2005, 01:00 PM We all belong wherever we please! :D Bokkie 02-17-2005, 01:16 PM Originally posted by reinbeau We all belong wherever we please! :D Ann, cross-post from the other side added here, but is this where the cfQue and GPS 10 guys are meant to stake our claim, or are there new forums for each platform going to be created? allgire 02-17-2005, 01:27 PM New bumber sticker? My other GPS Unit is also a Garmin No, I don't have an M5 either. . . :) Roofrat 02-17-2005, 01:35 PM Originally posted by Bokkie is this where the cfQue and GPS 10 guys are meant to stake our claim, or are there new forums for each platform going to be created? Good question - shouldn't this be named similar to the Palm Garmin forum - Garmin GPS Handhelds - since it serves the same purpose, only for PPC related Garmin products. The PPC portion of the equation would be assumed by virtue of its location on PPC City. Or would that be too confusing? Just my one cent, since I, too, am not a PPC owner and therefore probably don't qualify for two cents. OWG 02-17-2005, 01:56 PM Originally posted by Bokkie I don't belong here either. JGB 02-17-2005, 06:32 PM I'm Here, but should I be There?......recalculating. I have paired my GPS 10 to a Dell Axim x50. Should I be posting questions, comments, concerns here on in the Axim forum? ??? Is a button assignment problem an Axim problem or a Que software problem? Does Garmin tell me to call Dell and Dell tell me to call Garmin?  Enquiring minds want to know! Does Garmin tell me to call Dell and Dell tell me to call Garmin?  JB: Since we have the same gps and almost the same pda...are you able to get the Axim to do anything when "hold down a button" in the Que software? You are supposed to be able to map functions to the 4 buttons, as well as "holding the 4 buttons down", but I can't get the hold down functions to work. JGB 02-17-2005, 07:59 PM kefer - That is exactly the problem I am having. It will not accept the "held button" attributes. When I hold and then release it activates the "pressed button" assignment. The cf Que 1620 which came out earlier operates with the same Que software and the manual shows the exact same button assignment possibilities but I have not seen anyone complain about not being able to do it. I would like to get it working. Probably need to start with a call to Garmin Support. JB kefer 02-17-2005, 09:57 PM As far as I know, the cfQue software is the exact same software we got with the GPS 10, so I am guessing it might be a Dell problem. Sounds like an email to Garmin tech support is in order. JGB 02-17-2005, 10:02 PM keefer - which Dell model PPC do you have? X50v? Mine is the X50Mid. Have you done the ROM upgrade to AO2? I have. Wondering if that is a factor. JB kefer 02-17-2005, 10:09 PM Mine is an x50v, and yes, I upgraded to A02. Wondering if that was a good idea. I am also having problems with Activesync getting lost and not responding. Constant soft resets...getting very annoying. By the way, I just sent an email to Garmin tech support about the button thing. We'll see what they have to say. Definitely sounds like a Dell specific problem. I am able to use both the button link and the hold link to two different applications from the Que application (eg mail, wireless manager). JGB 02-17-2005, 10:18 PM OH Rats!......I was afraid of that. (does that qualify as a pun???) kefer - I will send an email as well. Strength in numbers. Kefer, Mine will be another 2 weeks until it ships; I don't know if it will have A01 or A02. Are you saying that A02 impaired usability? As in it introduced new problems without giving you any improvements in return? kefer 02-18-2005, 09:46 PM No, not at all. The upgrade went fine. I have no idea why I am having activesync problems, I doubt it has anything to with the update, but I am pulling my hair out trying to figure out what the problem is. I have seen a few posts on other boards talking about the same exact problem on ipaq's, so I'm thinking this is probably a Microsoft problem, and not Dell's. The button problem is another thing entirely. I believe that probably is a Dell problem (not sure if A02 has anything to do with it since I installed it prior to getting the GPS 10). Haven't heard anything from Garmin tech. support yet. I don't know whether to recommend updating to A02 or not right now. I would make sure everything is working correctly before you do, however. I updated immediately - probably not a good decision in retrospect, since I have no idea if it caused any problems or not. JGB 02-18-2005, 10:48 PM kefer - my upgrade to A02 went fine as well. But, like you, I have this burning desire to stay on "the bleeding edge" and also updated prior to receiving my GPS 10. It did not introduce any problems with ActiveSync for me. (Now, I have been trying to get it set up to sync with Bluetooth and no luck there so far.) Have also not heard from Garmin support yet either on button problem. As for improvements it has been stated that A02 there is increased touch screen sensitivity and I feel that is true. Maybe too much so, as now dirt and dust that invariably gets under the plastic cover at the edges seems to throw if off easier. Otherwise I have not seen noticed any overwhelming improvements. I have seen some slowdowns but it could just be me overtaxing RAM. I also am not having any luck in getting the G10 to respond to the Auto OFF/Power Save mode setting that I managed to set with the Garmin Sensor Config software. I believe I have the exact same setting at the RatMan but it seems more testing is in order. JB OWG 02-18-2005, 11:33 PM Originally posted by JGB kefer - my upgrade to A02 went fine as well. Button-nosed rodent, What's the latest buzz on your GPS 10? Anything new since the website review was added? I feel out of the loop with all this stuff going on, and I'm just itching to get one just as soon as the budget-masters give me the nod. Bokkie, after the initial hurdles with the non-existant (available now - maybe they read my review :p ) documentation, it is working fabulously. The problem with that is there is not much more really to say. It just works. I really like having the clutter of the cfQue gone. My iPaq feels so thin again. I like the fact that I can shut off the Que application in the car, restart it and bam, your location is right there (hint, use that pocket plus software and you too will have a real Close Button for your applications). I do fear tho that unless there are a lot of M5 adoptors, this forum will get real quiet as once the GPS 10 gets going it just plain works. The only things I have left to test are the roof mount, and hiking. I expect they will work very well also. PDA Street
