After Hard reset can't use existing Partnership!

Hi! One time my Pocket PC went out of battery, when I turned it back on everything(Data, Software) is gone. I tried to Activesync with my Laptop, it asked me to create a new partnership. I tried rename to My Pocket PC to the same name, it also told me to change my Pocket PC name. Now my appointments in calendar are gone, only this week appointments still there. Please help!

After hard reset while the ipaq is not in the cradle, you just delete the old partnership on desktop's activesync first, then when you sync it the first time you can create a new partnership with the same name and everything should sync over correctly.

It is a temperamental process. It took a lot of courage for me to delete the partnership and hope it would pick up ok again on the next sync. What I have given up on is trying to keep it in sync on two desktops. It has been a flaky process and one of them often tells me the partnership is already in use. Now I no longer sync with my work account and I've disabled all syncing, but nothing can pursuade ActiveSync to stop looking for things to do. Maybe I need that for Pocket Controller to enable itself?
