hi!
xeonrebel here
i bought my zire 71 on june 2003
my question is:
do i still have warranty? i've seen several posts saying that we have 2 years warranty, i dont know if thats true.
anyway, my palm isnt syncing as normal, i have to half open the camera and its doing that buzzing sound coming from my screen. now, being from mexico, how do i do it (if it can be done in the first place) and 2nd, i now that in anycase, refurbished palms are sent, mine is the EFISG (or international) version, will that be a problem?
and last...what do i need to do??
thankss

The longest warranty I know of for a Palm is one year unless you purchased an extended warranty. There should be a warranty card that came with the unit that tells you the warranty terms. You can got to the PalmOne web site and find contact information for Palm Mexico and talk to them but I think you're out of luck getting any warranty repairs.

I'm almost sure that there's 2 years warranty for most electronic devices in European Union countries. At least I have one ending in August 2005 (I bough Z71 back in 2003).
Check your warranty card as Jim already said.

The Zire 72 has a US warranty of one year from date of purchase. You can go to http://www.palmone.com/us/support/contact/us_warranty_a.html#zire72 to start a repair or advance exchange by e-mail. You can also contact Palm customer care by phone at (813) 313-4913.
I think the issue for you will be whether one dead pixel constitutes a warranty issue. I don't know what Palm's policy is on dead pixels but almost all computer makers have an upper limt of dead pixels being considered within specifications. I rather doubt that Palm would consider a unit with one dead pixel, even if it's annoying, as being outside of specifications but you're welcome to give it a try.
