Hello,
My device: Ipaq Hx4700.
Is there an utility which can switch the device to real VGA mode only for the desired applications without reset ?
I'm using Winpilot. A better resolution would be better for this software. But I don't need high resolution for other applications like Excel, Word, Nsbasic, Tomtom...
Thanks

As far as i know, it's not possible. Best you can do is to use real vga program such as SE_VGA to turn on real vga mode and use Tweaks2K2 to deactivate double pixeling for individual programs to make them render better.

Thanks answerdude.
Since this device is not very stable, I'm afraid that this solution will increase instability .

About the unstable issue, are you running any Today Screen plugin? Many of them are known to cause instability.

I'm running Magic Button and Spb PocketPlus.
I never had a device so unstable. (Ipaq 2210, Jornada 720, 680, 360Hp200lx, 100lx)
I have installed all applications on CF card. is it a good idea ?
Thanks

You should install both of those program in the main memory, and make sure you have the latest version, especaially Spb Pocket Plus (2.5), older version is known to have problem. By the way i don't think you need both of those programs running at the same time, they perform many of the same functions particularly in the task manager area.

Thanks Answerdude,
I use Magic Button to switch from one task to another.
Spb Pocket Plus to create icons on the Today screen.
In fact I simply want basic functions like on Win 98 Me Xp...
I will try your suggestion.

I believe that Spb Pocket Plus provides task switching and programs closing functions as well. My point is having 2 programs that does the same functions may cause problem.

If you are only using Magic button to switch from one task to another why not just use the in-built iTask?
Press the lower right button (4) and you will see a list of running tasks, seems to me that you are running three application that all do the same thing.
As AD has said, and I have found to my cost, running too many Today Panel plug-ins can cause serious stability problems.
I have tried (and rejected) them all and now just use RhinoLaunch to provide desktop icons and iTask to manage running applications.

Hello,
Thanks for your reply.
I use magic button because it creates little icons of the running tasks. I can very quickly switch from one application to the other.
I don't like Itask because I prefer to click on the screen.
With Spb Pocket Plus click and hold on OK button and then click on application.
It's quicker with Magic Button... but perhaps it crashes the device.
The live is a choice ...
Thanks
