My 3600 does not turn on anymore. Even in the docking station the green light does not come on. I used it yesterday on a 5-hour car ride (car window mount) of which the first 20 minutes where on a bumpy road. I placed it on my desk last night when I came home and tried it this morning to find that it is no longer working.

I just got this one last week after RMA'ing my original one.

Are there any known problems with these units (blown fuses, lose connecters)?
Has others experienced the same thing and what was the problem?

I really like the unit, but it seems to be out for repair more then it is in my hand.

Any ideas? I will call Garman in the morning.

Plug the charger into the iQue without the HotSync cradle and turn on.
Use stylus to soft reset.

Any luck?

strumble! You're a Genius, my 3600 came on, IT"S ALIVE !!!!

I unscrewed the top of the stylus to reveal the pin on the bottom of the cap, did what you mentioned, and she now works.

Thanks a million.

I noticed Garmin marked the reset hole in big bold embossed letters so it can be found easily, hmmm I wonder if this happens often, hence the bold embossed letters?

Thanks again.

No it does not happen that often.

I have my unit for almost 1 1/2 years now. It was unstable at first but R2.1 and later R3 cured it. Now the battery appears to be giving up the ghost and lately I had to soft-reset it in the way described by strumble. Well I'll get the battery replaced eventually. But before that latest reset the iQue was really reliable for a long time. I use it as a PDA i.e. all the time. I am optimistic that yours will do well, too.
