Hi,

Does anyone know of where I can find info about changing my IIIe from mask ROM to Flash ROM? I'd really love to be able to ugrade my OS.

I think you'd need to change the chip inside!!
Anyway you could only upgrade to OS 4.1 even if you did get it to work- OS 5 requires the proccessor that is only in the Tungsten T and the Sony NX70 at the moment

Yeah, the chip needs to be changed. There are some sites I found that will do it for you if you send off your Palm, so I guess it's possible. I need to upgrade the OS so I can run the Mobile Internet Kit. Unfortunately not possible on the IIIe. OS 4.1 sounds fine to me.

Perhaps you could sell your IIIe and save the cost of the ROM replacement, then buy a IIIxe with the proceeds. The upgrade to OS3.5 is included in the Mobile Internet kit.
