What would you folks think, about maybe some weekend this summer, having a get together somewhere in one part of the country for a picnic? Invite members of the forum, with coordinates presented and we all route to that coordinate?

Being one of those unfortunate individuals that works with many corporations on a daily/hourly basis, I am willing to bet, we could get some sponsorship/participation from Garmin themselves!! I would even go so far as to suggest inviting those unwashed PPC garmin users too! Course that probably leaves out the people from across the pond. (they always can fly and rent a car, although Bokkie might have problems driving on the RIGHT side of the road!)

Anyway, just an idea for something fun. I would be happy to strongarm Garmin for some participation. (yep, the cold weather has me thinking about vacations, mountains, seashores, lakes, and loons)

As a suitable meeting point I suggest somewhere in southern Sweden, right?

wellllllllllll, it might be cheaper for us folks over here, if we all chipped in for a Plane ticket for YOU ROFL

But Southern Sweden sounds one heck of a lot more interesting than Cleveland <g>

How about Emmaboda? I once stayed at a very nice bed and breakfast there.

Anders will find you a place deep in the forest which you'll have to come to by orienteering. Only problem, there are millions of fallen trees after a storm last January, so you'll stumble.

I worked for 30 years for a Swedish pump co. whose factory was in the little town if Lindaas. There's a lot of forest there and the excuse for product being late frequently was "...the truck hit a moose on the way to the airport."

Flygt yes, Swedish, not much. That's the trouble with working with Swedes, they all speak excellent English, at least all of the engineers and marketing people that I worked with over the years. Min Svenska ar inte bra! Probably didn't get that right.

Hey what is this, a Swedish conspiracy? I don't need an Ique to get to Sweden, just a PLANE!! (why does Herve come to mind when I read that word?)

Yes, they DO speak perfect English. Remind me sometime to tell you about the two Swede Doctors (female,) we met in St. Martin last year. Frankly, I was embarrassed that I spoke only English and just a bit of French. The Doctors sounded like they were from Ohio!!

No, I'm sure it must be somewhere in South Africa .

I'd love an excuse to go back to South Africa! I saw a lot in three weeks, but there's so much more I want to see. And this time I could probably get the detailed maps in time. The travel time from here, though, is horrendous. Kit :)
