I have been confused by postings on various threads re 'how slow the iQue became' after large quantities of waypoints were added to the Address Book.

I use the UK Speed Camera Database [5421] of them.
However, I only imported 2900 [below N52 00.000 my usual UK 'corridor']

As I was not finding my 're-draw' slow, I was unable to answer forum questions.

I now realize what is happening:-
1-Using wayQue I have removed all speed cameras [ just the speed cameras not normal waypoints] from 'view' on QueMap.
2-Using Birdwatch I have imported all cameras into its database and was relying on Birdwatch to give me the audible warning rather than a visual warning.
3-Using HardButton 3 for Birdwatch, I was able to switch to Birdwatch quickly to see the appropriate camera and speed when I heard the audible warning.

After all, at speed do I really need a visual warning!

Did you know?

I enclose 'screenshot' of Birdwatch in action from Hardbutton 3.
The waypoints with the alarm icon to the left are the cameras.
'Intersection' are ghost cameras produced by me to try in this rural area.
Mobile13, Mobile125 are the actual cameras.
Futher from my home the camera data base gives the speed limit ie. 60Mobile13 or 40Gatso34

That's exactly how I use Birdwatch for alerting me to speedcams - of course the SA ones, not the UK cams......

I do not notice any slowdown in map drawing either.

BW is my favourite app. If only JMcKie would give us the direction & speed attributes, so the alarms would stay silent if I approach them from either the wrong direction or within the speed limit (hint, hint...).

Yes, that would be a great program enhancement.

It's on the roadmap, honest. But I get an "Out of Memory or out of time" error when I try to route to it. :)
