I'm looking for suggestion on a good (best) mount for the iPAQ 4700.

I have the SEIDO for my iQue 3600 (model 2500) and hate it, primarily because the unit is not held in place, need rubber band to accomplish that.

Thanks, I will wait 'till tomorrow when I have the 4700 in my hands.

PS You really do your name justice.

Egmont,

Ratty (OWG) and I use the Seidio 2500 for our mount and the 4700 is very secure. I don't use a suction mount, but use a Brodit clip specific to the dash for my car. The new Seidio 2500s have been revised I believe to integrate sound in the connector and not via a cable but you'd need to look into that from your end. It is a good mount for the 4700 and there is enough depth in the unit to be able to fold the plastic screen cover behind it when you mount it. So far, I've not had a problem with it.

Bokkie,

Is the SEIDO mount for the 4700 anything like the one for the iQue?

If so, I don't want it, I still have problems with the one I have, need a rubber band to hold it in place.

Did you get my PM?

Egmont,

the last pm was from 2 days ago when you gave me link to your Italy photos. Since then, nothing new has been received.

There is a Seidio 2500 mount specifically for the HX4700 and it holds the device very securely.

Bokkie,

I never send a PM and since you are all over, I did not know if you got it.

I will look at the SEIDO again, I do like the concept.

Well, back to shoveling snow again, we got a new load last night.

You are so funny.:p

Just checked UPS, the 4700 and G10 are "out for delivery". Should have it in about 2 hrs.

Anything I should do first, yes I know charging, but anything else?

Bokkie and for that matter, anyone,

What accessories do you have and/or would recommend?

Considering hx4700 only has 64mb of ram, you will certainly need storage card. for both programs and data.

Thanks, by having large dig. cameras, I have a supply of them, 1, 2 & 4 gigs.

Another area is in device protection, I don't know what kind of case you'll get with the unit, but it may be worth spending on a good case. Many people also use screen protector, but that depends on personal preferences.

The 4700 screen flap is good enough for robust protection but it is too rigid to bend back comfortably and hold its position. I don't use an on-screen protector at this time. Cards you have. I don't know which is better, SD or CF but use the fastest one possible for the maps, and I guess, for US the biggest card as well.

You guys are so lucky to have the availability and fast delivery. I phoned a UK supplier who, three days ago said a delivery was expected. I phoned today, but nothing arrived in stock. Three days ago they were happy to take my order on the promise of a delivery. Needless to say, I did not order one and I'll buy from the first who has in stock.

Enjoy your new acquisition. Let us know your impression.

Delivery rarely is a problem, installation seems to be a problem.

see other thread by me.

Egmont, I'll resend the pm that I sent. Maybe it did not get delivered or perhaps I forgot to click "Send".
